What is iOS?
iOS is a mobile operating system for Apple-manufactured devices and it is developed by Apple Inc. It was previously called as iPhone OS but was renamed to iOS in June 2009. It was first released in 2007 which included iPhone and iPod Touch. It currently runs on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. It is second the most popular mobile operating system globally after Android.
It uses a multi-touch interface in which simple gestures can operate the device. For example, swiping your finger across the screen to move to the next page or pinching your fingers to zoom in and out. There are millions of iOS apps available in the Apple App Store for download.
Overview of iOS:
In June 2007, Apple has released the first version which is 1.5 and shortly becomes 2.0 and on September 5, 2007, Apple released the iPod Touch which had most of the non-phone abilities of the iPhone. In June 2010 iPhone OS and the OS name has renamed it as iOS. In April 2010 the iPad first generation was released and iPad Mini was released in November 2012.

- It has Integrated search support, which enables simultaneous search through files, media, applications, and email.
- It supports gesture recognition, for example, shaking the device to undo the most recent action.
- It gives direct access to the Apple App Store and the iTunes catalog of music, podcasts, television shows and movies available to rent or purchase.
- It is compatible with Apple's cloud service, iCloud.
- It has integrated front- and rear-facing cameras with video capabilities.
