WordPress Posts

WordPress post allow you to write a blog and post it on your site. Adding the content on your website is done using this feature of WordPress. In this WordPress post tutorial, you will learn about how to use the posts of WordPress.

How to Add New Post:

The following are the steps to add new posts to WordPress:
  1. Firstly, log in to the WordPress account.
  2. Go to the “Posts” on the menu of the sidebar and select the “Add New”.
  3. Now the new screen will be open where you will be given the option to add title and content for your web page.
    Title: Here you can write the title of the post.
    Content: Here you can write the content of your post.
    In Visual mode, you can write in normal format. In Text mode, you can write in HTML format.

How to Publishing Post:

After creating the content, the next thing is to the public the content. To public the content, you simply click the “Public” button. This button is on the right side of the panel.
The following are the list of components that come under Public section:
  • Save Draft: A post can be saved here.
  • Permalink: It stands for permanent link. It includes a user-friendly post name derived from the post title. This can be edited using the "Edit" button.
  • Preview: It is used for previewing your post before publishing.
  • Move to Trash: It is used for deleting the post. The post can not delete permanently, if you want to restore that post then it is possible to restore.
  • Status: It is used for changing the status of your post, whether it is published, pending, or under reviewer draft.
  • Visibility: It is used to modify the visibility of the post to public, private, or password protected.
  • Published: It is used for changing the published post date and time.

How to Edit Post:

For editing the post, you have to go “Post” in that select “All Posts”. There you will see the list of all created posts. If you bring your mouse above a post then you will see an option for Edit, and Quick Edit. You can use either “Edit” or “Quick Edit” to make changes to your posts.

How to Deleting a Post:

For deleting the post, you have to go “Post” in that select “All Posts”. There you will see the list of all created posts. If you bring your mouse above a post then you will see an option for Trash. You can use “Trash” to delete the respective post.

How to Preview Post:

The preview option is used to see your post before publishing it to the public. To preview the post, go to “Posts” in that select “All Posts”. There you will see the list of all created posts. If you bring your mouse above a post then you will see an option “Preview“.
